What are your hobbies?

Postby TonyB » Mon Dec 07, 2009 11:24 pm

In my spare time i fly RC helicopters.

Im not to sure if you guys know anything about these, but i have 1 x Trex600, 2 x trex500, and 1 trex450.

Here are some pics:

All my helicopters are electric. They use Lithium Polymer batteries capable of delivering 150Amp bursts, and Brushless DC motors.

So what do you do in your spare time??

Yes F1 is my series of choice. I found KERS interesting but was disappointed that only Ferrari, McLaren and BMW tried it.

In my spare time I build solar cars! Apart from that I enjoy 3D modelling, programming (I've been playing with OpenGL recently, I've also just started playing with USB interfacing and plan on moving on to lower level microcontroller programming soon), singing and playing the piano.

I also have a small RC helicopter, but it's nowhere near as nice as Tony's. One of my plans for the summer is to see if I can get the controller interfaced to my computer. Ought to keep me occupied for quite a while.

Unussapiens, i take it you program in C++. If you do you will pickup low level C pretty easily.
What sort of USB interfacing are you doing? More detail please in currently doing this stuff too :).

Current hobbies? Playing Baseball, Solar Car (I'll be going back next year to help out BHHS) and PC building/overclocking. Pretty boring really, but it keeps me going.

I also enjoy overclocking. I got an e8400 @ 4.0 and stock xfx 8800gt. Old but still does the job.

E6750 @ 3.0 GHz (Stock cooler, not willing to go higher atm) and a Gigabyte 8800GT. I can't really touch the 8800GT atm, the cooler has enough troubles keeping it cool at stock. Wasn't too bad for a comp I built myself 2 years ago. I'll be in the market for a replacement soon, I might even build my own case. Rotated ATX form factor (see SilverStone Raven RV-01 case) looks really good for cooling :D .

Personally I'm waiting for Nvidia's Fermi/GT300 first to see how that goes. Next comp will be a LAN rig, so a huge 5970 may not be the best card :P

Classy Thread :) It is good to see what all you others get up to in your spare time.

Personally i'm interested in aviation (and flying), sport (esp Tennis and Cross Country), motorsport and of course building Model Solar Cars. Guess the key elements in all these kinda add up too AIMSCC :P
Keeps me occupied I guess :)
