Testing Chinese inverters

Postby beenak47 » Tue Apr 05, 2011 1:21 pm

Has any testing been completed on the Chinese/Taiwan off the grid inverters on the market today.
I currently have both a Xantrex modified sine wave and a Powerstar pure sine wave. The Xantrex has a low "no load power consumption" whereas the Powerstar only has this ability in standby mode otherwise it's consumption can be as high as 3amps.
Is there any modifications you could make to the Powerstar inverter to achieve the same result as the Xantrex unit?.
Has anyone tried the inverters out off Taiwan, are they more efficient?
I want to upgrade to a pure sine wave inverter, but it must be energy efficient especially during the winter here in Victoria and have a low "no load power consumption"
