Hello folks,

I have a a query- Is shorting solar panels for a long time harmful to solar panels in any way? If i connect a certain load which demands more current than what can be generated through panels, then voltage of panels will drop. Now again, a short like condition will be generated. Is this 'loading' condition harmful to panels ? What is the difference in damage done to panels in both the cases? Which is more harmful?

Panels are not harmed by shorting but don't do it any way, it is a waste of energy.

Design the system to work at the maximum power point of the solar panel.
