Hi everybody... new kid in town here..

I am a newbie when it comes to solar energy but have always been fascinated with it. I am not very good at the technical side of things so I hope people here can help me understand how a Solar PV system in your house will produce more energy than your demand and thus you can sell to the grid.. I have read in some books that Solar is very expensive so how does one recover his investment?

Welcome to the forum.
Please look at this thread to tell you how grid connected systems work.
A typical 1kw system will cost around $3000USD and it will take around 10 - 15 years to pay itself off. So, you will not only have cheaper electricity in the future, but also the electricity youve been using for that time does not harm the environment.

Hi everybody,
I am new in this valuable forum. I think it is the time for being serious about serious matters that surround us. Solar energy and other renewable energies are breakthroughs in human life. I found this forum a good opportunity for commencing my research on the field of solar inverters. I hope everybody respects this media for better future. :)

In simple terms, the suns radiation hits the solar panel which turns this energy into Direct Current (DC) electricity which then flows via wires to an Inverter, mounted on your house.

Hi I am also a new guy to this forum, I have read about solar panels from Suntech, Sunpower, Solarfun,Jinko, BP Sharp, Sanyo, Conergy etc etc, and have narrowed my results to a Hybrid panel from Sanyo HIP-210NKHE6, a mixture of mono crystalline and amorphous, the reasoning behind this selection is I have read that they don't shut down fully in a bit of dappled shade from trees and work better at higher temperatures to the ordinary mono crystalline ones. So if anyone has any news on these solar panels it would be appreciated. I will possibly couple them to a SMA 4000TL inverter, although the 4000TL maybe a bit larger than required it accommodates different string arrangements better, any pros or cons on this inverter also appreciated. I would like pros and cons before I outlay many thousands of dollars please

many thanks
henry
