moving solar panel in buggy car

Hi all,

I got a project in which I need to attach solar panel with a tracker in which it can moves in one axis. The problem is how to attach the roof of the car with the moving solar panel while the car is moving. Our budget is quite limited so we should brainstorm the cheapest material that we can use. One suggestion from our member is using wood rod as a rotation axis. But, I am not sure whether it is quite rigid enough when the car is moving and facing harsh condition like bumpy road.
Any suggestions?

Return to Solar Setups. Battery or other.
