I am building a solar racer. The race track is 20m in length. the car will weigh in at 54grams, have two cells with concentraitors and will generate about 2.4 volts, 1.05 amp, 2.5 watts. I currenly have Maxon motor 110042 (3 volts, 2 watts, 19,000 rpm, 75% eff.) on order but am curious about some atomic slot car motors (130 can style). The Atomic Chili Evolution claims 43,000 rpm at 4.8 volts but has little else buy the way of motor data. Has anyone tried one of these motor types for use in a solar race competition? Are they remotely suitable?
