I'm involved in the development of a system that is used for laser power transfer. We are utilizing an 8-16 kw true disc cutting laser. We diverge the laser onto a passively cooled panel with custom solar cells. We are involved in the NASA centennial challenge for creating a space elevator, you can view the details here http://www.spaceward.org. Unfortunately we didn't win the competition this November but there is another chance coming in may. I am currently looking for a lightweight and high power mppt in the range of 1000w and under 500g, as our current one isn't performing as desired. I am also looking for a small version that is capable of handling 50w and under 40g any help or direction on this would be appreciated.
