are solar systems upgradable

Hi all,
i am new here so hi my name is Allan, i am looking at purchasing a 1.5kv system through Origin Energy (mainly because they have interest free terms) anyway i was thinking is there system upgradable at a later date ? i mean can i add more panels & maybe up size the inverter to handle it ?

Yea if you order a larger inverter you can upgrade cheaply later on, however my understanding is origin charge an arm and a leg for custom systems. Its always cheaper to go for the larger system from day 1, as you dont have to pay installation cost again, and you will be getting the FIT for the larger system for a longer period.

The Sharp inverter they are giving you now is pretty crap compared to the like of SMA and Powerone.

dam thats no good i have already paid the deposit 7 now have to wait 9 tp 10 weeks for the install, i am also getting solar hot water through them,
eventually i would like to add more panel though & i guess upgrade the inverter
