Anyone have any info on Jingri solar Panels

Postby danthefordman » Tue Jul 27, 2010 11:33 pm

Hi folks, new to the forum.
Have done some research in the past in deciding on the solar system i was getting installed but generally i know diddly about this stuff and am completely reliant upon what info i can find and decode on the net and what i am told by people who have had installations done.
Situation is this, was originally quoted CEEG 190watt panels for my approx 3.5kW system, then discovered my panels had been changed (without my knowledge) in some paper work sent to me for grid connection application. After an abrupt email i get a call today telling me I am now to receive Jingri PV Tech JRM190M panels (supposedly better according to the installer because they can provide a +0.3% increase in peak wattage (these are my words) as opposed to CEEG's -0.something % wattage). Can't find much at all about these panels and am very concerned that i am getting bent over and fed an uncomfortable surprise. Can't find them on the Clean Energy Council list of certified panels (even more of a concern).
Can anyone shed any light on this? Is there anyone out there who can provide any advice on this predicament or info about these panels?
Any help appreciated
Danny

They need to be certified panels. It is the responsibility of the installer to provide you with a system compliant to the Australian standards, otherwise they will have there license stripped.

I would contact them right away, and ask them to prove to you they are certified panels, and if they aren't, contact the Clean energy council and report the installer.

From my experience, the CEEG panels are good quality panels. They are up there with Suntech, Trina, etc, as one of the reputable Chinese manufacturers.

Who was the installation company BTW, and how much did they charge you??

Everyone stop looking, i have found the panels on the CEC website, much to my relief. The full name is Wenzhou JingRi PV Tech. Solargen has informed me that supply was an issue with CEEG after i informed them i had heard as much. Which is what i suspected in the first place, but i would still like to hear if anyone has these panels installed, mine are jrm190m panels.
Cheers

Hi, just been dealn with Solargen for 1.5kw sys for $2600, 8x190 jingri panels with a Sunteam 1.65 inverter they seem above board read good things abt solargen but it seems that they have been around for a few years and they are starting their own trend with new suppliers. Flip of the coin really, how do new trends begin if nobody tries them i suppose.
